His sister

The old chap down the road, he's well over 80, is living with his sister. She doesn't go out much. Potters around in the garden sometimes but mostly she sits in the shade with a cup of tea and her knitting. Biscuits, she eats biscuits all day long. And when the old chap's not looking - she feeds some to the dog too.

The old guy down the road

I watch this old man down the road. Since it's been hot here he opens up his bathroom window every morning. I can see straight in from my studio. He has a little wash, sprays some cologne and takes his dog out for a walk. All along he's humming on a tune. If it's because he's happy or because he knows I'm watching - I'm not sure. All I know is that he's getting friskier and friskier every morning! He also has a tatoo.

Goodmorning?

Yes, I think it must be a good morning when you're awaken by the birds, no matter how early. Am I right?

We don't have cherries in our garden but we have a small plum tree!

New Friends

Outdoors

Spending a lot of time outdoors these days, being inspired by all things growing. Most meals are eaten in the garden. Yesterday we had home grown peas, zuccini, potatoes and beetroot. Can't wait for the broccoli and cabbage to ripen!

It's always quite scary when you watch something being pulled off the press. Luckily, this time, all colours were spot on!

Sild

Vi var i Danmark og spiste nogen sild! Det smagte meget godt! Pickled herring sounds awful, but really, it's what you're used to eat that you like! On midsummer you eat herring, new potatoes and sour cream sprinkled with chives - and midsummer just wouldn't be the same without it. We gave a pass to the gammeldansk though...

Leaving

Leaving my baby... In the very capable hands of his father I know... but still leaving for 4 whole days... Mustn't think of that too much because this trip is a very special one. My friend Krokodil had a baby! It's midsummer and the herring is calling.

Who's eating our strawberries?

Its got to be the birds! Every morning when we come out someone has been hacking away at the strawberries! Never mind the netting or the very scary scare crows! It's gone so far that I have had to buy packets of strawberries in the supermarket and before the boys wake up I sneak out in the garden to scatter these around. When strawberry season is over - I shall have a well derved little rest!
