The flowers in my garden
We have mostly edible things in our garden. Most flowers can be eaten without any greater harm; dandelions, chive flowers and strawberry blossoms. We're bringing up our children to try everything and not be picky. We didn't think the 1 year old would take it quite that literally. We knew he would like to try eating grass, and that's fine. Maybe a fistful of soil, that's ok too. But to be sucking on a snail? An alive one... Bring back the picky children, I say!

Theo and mamma in Milk Magazine
Lovely piece of press in French Milk magazine. The main picture is so sweet ( photographed by Christian Doyle 3 years ago...) and seems like a lifetime ago... this little boy has now grown into a seven year old and has had two siblings since.

Spring has come!
The colours in this illustration don't do spring justice but I love the way spring is bursting out of the seams and the hair of the girls. I should do a green version of this, with butterflies and blossoms.

Hello Book!
Went in to London to meet the publishers of "my" book, face to face. ( Obviously not just mine, lots of people involved.) We had met before, over a colourless Skype connection and Claudette and Anemarieke looked very chic in the nippy London morning. I went on into Earls Court to see the book sitting there, on a shelf, at the London Book fair. My heart made a little jump. Hello Book!

Chocolate Owls...
Found a bag of easter eggs yesterday. Hidden away from hungry little fists. Hidden away so well I'd forgotten about them... I ate them all! So now I better replace them... before those hungry little hands come back.
